The Nice guys
Here is a list of the people I wish to thank deeply for their help. Without them, the road would have been much much harder :)
- PoP, for his Tabulator widget (the tables in the search results), for being of great advice and being so patient and kind with all my questions :D
- Manlyfesto, for his great advices on RepDepot, helping me to improve the user-friendliness and overall accessibility of the website
- The whole beta test team :
- vGl-CoW
- niteReloaded
- Dknight
- mdb
- MoNKeYSpanKeR
- Raithed
- Lemonwalrus
- chiflutz
- HydraRulz
- zatic
- sundance
- Katona
- pachi
- Nitrogen
- Centric
- yenta
- Chrisbk. Even though he did not participate in the actual making of this website, I do owe him a lot for all his work on RepASM. Without him, RepDepot would not even exist.
The Technical thingies
Of course, many components were not completely made from scratch, even if I have spent some time to integrate them into this website. Here's an exhaustive list (hopefully) of sites or people who provided that kind of help.
- jQuery is a JavaScript framework providing many capabilities like DOM traversing and manipulation, animations, Ajax helpers, etc... Great tool.
- TinyMCE is the nice WYSIWYG text editor that allows people to make rich comments.
- PHP/SWF Charts is a library to create cool charts mixing Flash and PHP.
- How to make an upload progress bar using APC (in French). Thanks to that article, I have been able to make the nice progress bar you see when uploading files to RepDepot :)
- I found the star rating system on Komodomedia. However, the site seems to be in major relooking these days and the tutorial doesn't seem to be up anymore. Oh well.
- The whole design of RepDepot is based on Multiflex 3, by 1234.info. It has been somewhat modified to suit my needs but most of the job is thanks to the author. Sorry I couldn't keep the credits line in the footer !
- The nice tooltips are based on Sweet Titles, by Dustin Diaz but were completely rewritten by myself using jQuery to add more flexibility and code refactoring.
- Superfish provided the menu implementation. Based on jQuery (again), great plugin.
